Conspicuous, medium-sized tree, 15-18 (20) m tall, 4-6 m wide, habit asymmetrical to symmetrical, loosely conical, sometimes with multiple shoots; branches horizontal, not completely layered, branches down to the ground for a long time, shoots stiff, usually slow-growing, 25-40 cm a year, occasionally up to 80 cm
