What is a tree nursery?
Your virtual visit to the Lorenz von Ehren tree nursery!

What is a tree nursery? We cultivate around 400,000 different plants on over 600 hectares and ship them all over the world. But how does it work, what do we do with the trees, how do we ship them? And why is it called a 'nursery' anyway?

Join us on a digital expedition to the Lorenz von Ehren nursery, a fascinating world full of green treasures!

The following video section is available in German only. If you are still interested we cordially invite you to take a look around.

Let's get to work!

Pruning, cutting, planting, shipping – the most important tasks in the tree nursery. Exciting insights into our four most important processes. Take a look for yourself!

Take a look around!

Visit us at our premises and watch us at work, enjoy the changing seasons and perhaps you will even find your favourite tree here.

Our tree world!

Large trees, rare trees, special trees! We cultivate over 400,000 different trees and shrubs. Climate trees, fruit trees, topiary trees, evergreens, avenue trees, but also very special ones: our unique specimens. See for yourself!

What are climate trees?

Trees are air conditioners! A feature we particularly appreciate in summer. But why are trees becoming increasingly important, especially in cities, and is every tree suitable for every location?

Green cities! (Projects 360°)

Summer, sun, city life! Just stand on Bürgermeister-Petersen-Platz in Hamburg and enjoy the laissez-faire atmosphere! Simply move the mouse pointer!

Our projects

Live better with greenery. We are convinced that there are trees and shrubs for every location. Trees and shrubs that thrive and thus shape the space. We would like to show you three of our favourite projects here in Hamburg.
