Characteristics:
Habit
Small to normal shrub, 1-2 m tall and wide; usually without branches, but dense and thick shoots, looks stiff, medium to fast-growing
Blossom
Large blue to reddish cymes, up to 20 cm across, marginal flowers white or pink, July to August
Leaves
Slenderly ovoid to lanceolate, saturated green, 35 cm across, soft hairs, no autumn colours

Inconspicuous
Demands
Light shade to semi-shade, for cool, humid areas, moderately sensitive to frost, regenerates well; needs wind protection
Soil
Very acidic to neutral, humic substrates, fresh to moist
Tips
Cut back to 15-30 cm in March/April to further flower production that year
