Bushy dwarf shrub with many dense shoots, 0.2-0.4 m tall, up to 0.8 m wide; flat roots
Blossom
Inflorescences like racemes, densely covered with round bells, basically pink but varying, July to September, fruits are inconspicuous

Evergreen, like needles, shiny dark green
Demands
Sun; for humid, cool-temperate areas; somewhat sensitive to frost, needs wind protection

Well drained substrates, acidic to neutral, sandy-humic, fresh
Note
Cut back every 1-2 years to retain its habit and further flower production, when shooting begins in March or April above some green buds
