Nepeta faassenii 'Six Hills Giant'
Characteristics:
Habit
Powerful, dense and bushy clumps, upright to spreading upwards, may need supporting, strong-growing
Blossom
Elongated flower panicles 30-40 (50) cm long, loose whorls with intense lavender-blue flowers; flowers without interruption from May to September
Leaves
Slender, triangular to elliptical, twice as large as those of N. faassenii, grey, green, very aromatic
Demands
Sun, losing its habit in even light shade, when exposed to wind or on heavy soil; otherwise like N. faassenii
Tips
Increase the number of flowers by cutting at the end of June
Tip
The catmints have earned their name. Cats love to roll around in the cushions, which obviously remind them of valerian. To prevent this, lay some prickly twigs over the cushions.
