Origin:
South Eastern Australia
Habit:
Upright, up to 30 m, umbrella-shaped crown, fast-growing, stoloniferous.
Flowers:
Bright yellow, globular, in racemes, fragrant, (January) February to March.
Fruits:
Pods, brown to violet, later grey, 3-4 bean-shaped seeds.
Leaves:
Evergreen, delicate, bipinnate leaves, covered with fine white hair, silvergrey appearance.
Bark:
Smooth, grey.
Demands:
Sun, heat, frost sensitive, cold greenhouse.
Natural habitat:
Evenlymoist, otherwise loss of leaves, no waterlogging, acidic to neutral.
Tip:
Prune after flowering in spring, since buds develop in summer, late pruning = no flowers.
Hardiness:
Zone 8
