Flowers:
Individual, pure white, very fragrant, 3-12 petals, cup-shaped large, up to 25 cm, late summer to autumn.
Fruits:
Like cones, cream-brown, bright red seeds.
Leaves:
Evergreen, leathery, slenderly elliptical to ovoid, dark green and shiny on top, rust brown underneath, up to 25 cm long.
Demands:
Full sun to semi-shade, protected, sensitive to frost, protect flowers and young leaves from frost, cold house.
Natural habitat:
Moist to fresh, well drained, humic, acidic to neutral soil, also tolerates short droughts.
