Splendid panicle colours, single or double, various colours, May; single flowers more fragrant and flowering longer than double ones; flowering weakly and atypically in the first few years after planting.
Demands:
Only full sun, light and crooked in the shade; tolerates drought and heat less than the wild variety; frost hardy.
Soil:
Very nutritious, loamy and alkaline soil.

Cut off withered panicles to further seed production; remove the suckers from the root stock.
