Habit

Shrub, 1-2 m tall and wide, the first years stiffly upright, then arching to widely extended; medium to strong-growing

Blossom

Golden yellow, hanging racemes, end of April to May with scent of cloves from afar

Roundish, three to five-lobed, early shoots, fresh green, shiny, from September yellow-pink or reddish autumn colours

Crimson-brown to black; pungent to sour taste, from July, edible
