Habit

Loose and asymmetrical, medium-size to large tree, 15-20 (25) m tall, 7-12 m wide with light foliage, some with several stems, and forming runners; branches and twigs thorny, bent into zig-zags, horizontal to ascending, not overhanging; the first 10-15 years extremely fast-growing, 60-150 cm a year
