Habit

Petiole climber/trellis climber, 5-15 (30) m tall, 2-8 m wide; impenetrable mats, support diameter 0.2-1 cm; very fast-growing, 150-300 (500) cm a year

Blossom

Cream-white, radial, numerous cymes, main flowers June to July, second blossoms into September, strong smell of hawthorn

Leaves

Three to five-lobed, deep green, shiny, pale yellow end of October, dense and without gaps, casting deep shade

Sun to semi-shade, takes well to heat, mostly frost hardy, good for urban areas, does not need wind protection
