Characteristics:
Habit
Elegant normal shrub, 2 m tall and wide, with widely and graciously overhanging twigs, broadly loose when old, slow-growing
Leaves
Semi-evergreen, evergreen in wine-growing areas; shoots grey tomentose, then glossy, dark green, yellowish grey tomentose underneath; pointed elliptical, wrinkled, leathery, single leaves are orange-yellow from November on
Fruits
Unlike the other species, bright orange; many fruits
Demands
Exceptionally tolerant of heat, needs warmth, moderately frost hardy to sensitive, for protected areas; good for urban areas, needs wind protection
