Characteristics:
Habit
Small shrub 0.6-0.8 m tall, 0.6 m wide; loosely bushy with rod-like, upward-reaching shoots, moderate growth
Blossom
Bright yellow butterfly flowers; June to August in long racemes, slight scent of honey

In threes, dark green, silky greenish hairs underneath; unspectacular pale yellow in autumn

Flat husks, black-brown, poisonous

Deep roots with far-reaching lateral roots, collects nitrogen

Full sun, very intolerant of shade, likes warmth, moderately frost hardy, low to medium humidity
Soil
Extremely dry to moderately fresh; slightly acidic to alkaline, on all well drained substrates except peat and bog soil (unlike many other broom varieties!).
