Habit
Small shrub, 1-1.5 m tall and wide, upright, dense and squat, laterally extended when old, slow-growing
Blossom
Conspicuous early spring flowers, bright light yellow, end of March to April, some two weeks before F. intermedia, slightly fragrant; thin out older twigs to further flower production after flowering, they have to be cut to the ground
Leaves
Reverse-ovoid, yellowish reddish in autumn, not very conspicuous; October to November
Demands
Sun to shade; likes warmth; usually frost hardy, early flowers suffer only when late frost is extreme

Moderately dry to moist; moderately acidic to alkaline, any garden soil
