Numerous winged nuts, green, gradually turning brown, 1.5 -3 cm long
Demands
Sun to semi-shade, likes warmth, tolerates chalk, heat and drought, wind resistant
Soil
Well drained, dry to fresh, neutral to alkaline, nutritious, sandy or loamy soils
Tips
The Red Ash naturally occurs in alluvial forests, on moist alluvial soils and marshes. Tolerating relatively dry and even slightly alkaline soils it is highly valued for street planting in North America
