Blossom

White to cream-yellow, with touches of red, tube-shaped in clusters on the highest leaf pair, May to June; intensely sweet fragrance at night

Leaves

Early shoots, (March) April; elliptical, the upper leaf pairs grown together like plates, dark green on top, blue-green underneath

Fruits

Orange-red, pea-size, from August; slightly poisonous, bitter taste
