With leaf shoots, exceptionally rich flowering, tulip-like, bicoloured, dark pink outside, pink inside, very large, 20 to 25 cm, late flowering, end of April to end of May, weakly fragrant

Summer green, ovate, quite large, up to 22 cm long, medium to dark green, yellow-brown in autumn October

Roots

Flat, fleshy, extensive, sensitive to mechanical damage

Demands

Sun to semi-shade, protected from wind

Fresh to moist, well-drained, humic, acidic to neutral substrates, no soil compaction
