Initially cushions with upright peduncles, later flat, dense mats, fast-growing

Lavender-blue, labial flowers in whorls on panicle-like inflorescences with many flowers from May to September; sharply aromatic fragrance

Usually decid green, sometimes semi-evergreen in favourable areas; slenderly elliptical, wrinkled, silvery grey shoots, later grey-green, penetrating aroma

Tip

Cut back hard to just above ground after first flowering in June to increase flower production and give the plants an especially compact habit.
