Conspicuous small tree, 5-8 (15) m tall, 4-6 (8) wide; asymmetrically conical, somewhat bizarre, loosely twisted or flattened crown; branches horizontal, hints of layering, twig tips usually ascending; slow-growing; 10-20 cm a year
