Habit
Twiner/trellis climber, 8-12 m tall, 2-6 m wide, with loose twigs reaching up to some 2 m; support diameter for young plants 1-2 cm, for older plants 8-10 cm, sometimes 20 cm; fast-growing, 70-200 (300) cm a year after the 3rd to 5th year

Ovoid to roundly elliptical, fresh green, splendid yellow in September

Pea-size, from September on, yellow when closed; orange-red when open, very persistent, very decorative; unpalatable, plant several specimen together to increase fruit production

Sun and semi-shade, possible in shade but loose and without fruit; tolerates heat, very frost hardy; good for urban areas, usually wind resistant
