Chamaecyparis - Cypress
Cupressaceae
Our Chamaecyparis
Though there are only about seven species of false cypress world-wide, hundreds of cultivars have been made thanks to the tree’s abitlity to mutate. The false cypress develop dark green, aromatic scales as leaf organs. However, these trees do offer differing colour nuances, which results in the most colourful conifer varieties of all.
The attractiveness of the Chamaecyparis cultivars is increased even further by their stiff, compact or elegantly loose habits or unique branching. The monoecious flowers and small, pea-sized cones are, in contrast, inconspicuous.
