Malus - Crab Apple
Rosaceae
Our Malus
There are 30 species of Malus (crab apple tree) that grows in the northern hemisphere of the Earth. Such a large habitat resulted in a plenty of fruit varieties and ornamental forms. Only a few wildlife species are available, as they have a rather modest appearance compared to the ornamental crab apples. In the forest and field hedges plant lovers often come across crap apple trees and deem them wild, but mostly they are just fruit species run to seed.
