Photinia - Christmas berry

Most of the ca. 66 species of the genus Photinia come from East Asia and are endemic there. Their German name, "Glanzmispel", comes from the glossy leaves. The deciduous species impress in autumn with their fantastic autumn colours. The fruits of the Photinia provide a welcome source of food for birds.
