An exceptional fir, a small tree in Germany, 5-8 (10) m tall, 3-4 m wide; often with several shoots, nonetheless remaining slenderly conical with branches to the ground for a long time; loose crown when old, branches horizontal to ascending; slow-growing, especially the first few years, 7-20 cm a year
