Picturesque, medium-size tree, sometimes a decorative shrub, (7) 10-15 m tall, 6-10 m wide; initially broadly conical, later with flattened crown, domed; usually with short stem, main branches reaching upwards like a funnel, twigs horizontal to lilting, loose and transparent; slow-growing, 20-30 cm a year
