Our Malus domestica

„An apple a day keeps the doctor away”- this saying is no coincidence, as apples
are considered to be extremely healthy. There are many old and robust regional
varieties. In addition, there are new varieties that have been specifically selected
for high resistance to fungal diseases, uniform yields and a fine, balanced taste.

In Germany, there are about 1500 apple varieties, of which 400 are commercially available. Especially the well-known varieties from commercial fruit growing need good, warm locations. Early varieties are already ripe for consumption in
August, although not every apple can be stored equally well.

As a rule, most apple varieties are not self-fertile. For this
reason, apple trees should be planted at the time of
flowering and in pollen-giving varieties within easy reach of
bees. Ornamental apples are also excellent pollen donors.

In locations with a high risk of late frost, late-flowering or
climatically adapted regional varieties are suitable.

Fruit trees in XXL

Many garden owners want to plant their fruit tree and immediately harvest fruit. But with all varieties of fruit grafted on a high trunk, you have to wait a relatively long time for the full yield because the trees begin to bloom and bear lush only at 8-10 years.

Tip: Plant specimen fruit trees or pre-cultivated espalier. This way you can avoid the waiting period and it is possible to harvest in the year of planting. We have specimen fruit trees already up to 50 years old in stock in our quarters.
