Lorenz von Ehren Display Garden Düsseldorf (Schloss Dyck/North Rhine-Westphalia)

With a Lorenz von Ehren tree or shrub, you will get valuable time. As our plants are beautiful companions of life in an instant. They have been cultivated for decades at our nursery in order to provide immediate beauty and quality of life into any garden or greening area.

A selection from our wide range of plants is shown at our display garden at Schloss Dyck in Jüchen near Düsseldorf in North Rhine-Westphalia. The choice of plants has been inspired by Asian gardens – a conscious decision, as it shows wonderfully the diversity of species, varieties, and cuts.

Lorenz von Ehren Projects in North Rhine-Westphalia

Would you like to see our quality trees in real urban spaces? Well, you won't necessarily find a bonsai there, but of course many trees from the Lorenz von Ehren nursery can be seen in North Rhine-Westphalia, e.g. in Cologne, Essen, Düsseldorf, or Aachen.

If you like to make your choice of plants personally, you are welcome to come over to our head office in Hamburg or our branch in Bad Zwischenahn. If not, we will be happy to choose your individual plants for you!

Lorenz von Ehren projects around Düsseldorf

  • Cologne Cathedral in the background:
Acer platanoides 'Globosum' (Globular Maple) in the foreground and the majestic backdrop of Cologne Cathedral in the background. There is no better way to depict urban contrasts. Maple is generally a variety that can cope with the demanding urban climate.

  • Thyssen Krupp Quarter, Essen:
The trees in the "Avenue of Worlds" come from five continents. In the selection process, the focus was on choosing 68 woody plants that clearly differ in habit and foliage.

  • Sauerlandpark, Hemer:
The leisure park "Sauerland Park" was created on the former site of the State Garden Show in Hemer. Classic topiaries such as spheres and hedges invite visitors to linger and hide.

  • Poket Park, Aachen:
Pinus sylvestris,  the forest pine in the city. Irritating, when the location does not match the name at all. And yet we even recommend Pinus sylvestris as a climate tree.

  • Linden avenue Schloss Dyck, Jüchen:
The planting of the linden avenueis certainly one of the outstanding projects at Schloss Dyck. A total of 66 lime trees  (Tilia europaea ‘Pallida‘) were planted and complete the historic landscape.

Asian flair with trees from Germany!

You don't have to travel to Japan to enjoy gardens with Asian flair. The Lorenz von Ehren nursery has created a display garden in Jüchen near Düsseldorf in which the focus is on Asian trees, shrubs and topiaries.

According to the motto "East meets West", Azalea, Camelia, Cornus, Acer palmatum, to name but a few, and, of course, bonsais like Pinus sylvestris, are assembled in this display garden.
Design of the display garden “East meets West”:

A 3.500m² Asian-style theme garden with trees from Hamburg invites garden enthusiasts to contemplation and meditation. The idea for this garden was developed in cooperation with the Schloss Dyck Foundation.
The close and trustful cooperation with the foundation since many years enabled an unbureaucratic and spontaneous realisation of the Asian garden, from the idea to its completion, within one year. Enjoy the atmosphere of this special garden!
