Wiry peduncles with slender panicles, brownish violet; June to August; plentiful

Linear, dark green; bright yellow to orange-yellow in autumn from September on.  
Demands
Sunny to slightly shady, cool and humid, frost hardy; does not need wind protection

Fresh to damp, nutritious, not competitive and dying back if fertilised; humic, acidic, peat, loam or clay
Tip
Molinia caerulea does not take well to cutting before the beginning of October.
