Habit

Medium-size, bamboo-like shrub, 2-2.5 m tall, 1.5 m wide, stiff, upright, few twigs, long shoots, slow-growing

Blossom

Small, white star-shaped, up to 30 cm long upright, terminal panicles, summer

Leaves

Evergreen, sometimes semi-evergreen, pinnate in threes, up to 90 cm long, pink, red and bronze when shooting, later light green, crimson-red in autumn

Demands

Full sun to semi-shade, protected, somewhat frost hardy, cold house, takes well to cutting, needs wind protection
